“Our story begins in the 1950s, when two Cuban-American parents fled the Communist Castro regime in order to provide a better life for their children. They came to America without much more than the clothes on their bodies. Through hard work and dedication, they provided their children the opportunity to secure an education.
One of those children was Johnny Pineyro. Today, as founder of the foundation bearing his family’s name, Johnny carries on his parents’ legacy of sacrifice and unselfishness, of inspiration and hope. The Pineyro Education Foundation believes in the power of education – to enlighten minds, enliven hearts and elevate futures.
Our unique educational initiatives and community partnerships are designed to help break the cycle of poverty and high dropout rates in Central Florida. In short, our goal is to change lives.
